Research

Research

Technology

I have used a range of technology and will continue to use technology to create and complete my portfolio.

Google
I have used Google a lot as my main search engine. I prefer using google over anything else because I find it easy to use and efficient. I've used Google to research e.g. different genres and to store images for my blog.
 Safari
Safari is Apples browser for their products e.g. iMac, iPad, iPhone etc. I am currently working on my project which is on the iMacs and do some researching on safari also.

YouTube
YouTube is key in my research of existing and upcoming Psychological horrors and researching other genres. This will be my main source for linking my videos and any existing texts and research I find on YouTube to help support my portfolio.

Sony Camera/Jessops TP 323 Tripod
We needed a handheld camera which we borrowed from the media studio and a tripod to film in our locations. We definitely needed a tripod as because I experienced some difficulties when trying to film without a tripod. The tripod was efficient and you could film really easily on it.

iMovie/ Final Cut Pro
We have been using a combination of iMovie and Final cut pro to produce and edit our film trailer. I find that final cut pro is more superior for editing and for iMovie to place the shots and pieces of film into the right order. A combination of the two has been excellent and m glad I've got to use both and see which one works best for our film trailer.

Blogger
Blogger is the tool I have been using to produce my blog and Portfolio.  I can easily access it from either my laptop or school. Moreover I can access it on different mediums e.g. Ipad/Iphone.

iMac
Ive been using the iMacs at school, and I can say the graphics and retina display on the iMacs is amazing. I love using safari and other programmes. Sometimes it has been difficult to use because I don't have one at home but I have learnt a lot along the way.

VLC(iMac Programme)
As I mentioned, VLC is an iMac programme I used to create still images for my magazine cover for the Ancillary tasks. VLC is great, although can be quite complicated to use as you have to access it through applications and more process.
